Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 1.62%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which rose 0.18% or 0.04 points to trade at 22.53 at the close. Meanwhile, Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc) added 0.15% or 0.07 points to end at 48.80 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) was down 0.08% or 0.04 points to 50.56 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which fell 5.52% or 0.294 points to trade at 5.036 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 4.59% or 0.995 points to end at 20.680 and ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) was down 3.97% or 1.62 points to 39.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 111 to 17 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.52% or 0.294 to 5.036. Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.59% or 0.995 to 20.680.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 12.27% to 18.20.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 5.19% or 2.97 to $54.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 5.18% or 3.46 to hit $63.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.20% or 2.40 to trade at $1222.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.59% to 1.1386, while EUR/GBP fell 0.27% to 0.8886.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 96.54.
