Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Relx PLC (AS:REL), which rose 1.25% or 0.215 points to trade at 17.470 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) added 1.17% or 0.335 points to end at 28.950 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was up 0.68% or 0.132 points to 19.450 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which fell 3.92% or 1.00 points to trade at 24.49 at the close. Randstad NV (AS:RAND) declined 2.85% or 1.37 points to end at 46.65 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) was down 2.18% or 0.82 points to 36.88.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 71 to 56 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Randstad NV (AS:RAND) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.85% or 1.37 to 46.65.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 7.66% to 12.28.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.16% or 1.53 to $72.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 2.75% or 2.15 to hit $80.39 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.32% or 3.80 to trade at $1205.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1770, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8969.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 93.69.
