Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB), which rose 1.09% or 0.45 points to trade at 41.76 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) added 0.79% or 0.55 points to end at 70.30 and Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) was up 0.65% or 0.20 points to 30.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which fell 1.46% or 0.54 points to trade at 36.50 at the close. Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) declined 1.16% or 0.056 points to end at 4.817 and Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) was down 0.98% or 0.36 points to 36.78.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 65 to 59 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) rose to all time highs; up 1.09% or 0.45 to 41.76. Shares in Gemalto (AS:GTO) fell to 5-year lows; falling 1.46% or 0.54 to 36.50. Shares in Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) rose to all time highs; gaining 0.79% or 0.55 to 70.30.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 3.78% to 10.79.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.79% or 0.40 to $50.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.38% or 0.21 to hit $55.79 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 1.59 to trade at $1276.31 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1762, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8863.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 93.29.
