Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Construction & Materials and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 3.01%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Altice SA (AMS:ATCE), which rose 12.64% or 14.55 points to trade at 129.65 at the close. Meanwhile, KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) added 5.15% or 0.165 points to end at 3.368 and ING Groep (AMS:ING) was up 4.94% or 0.720 points to 15.300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TNT Express (AMS:TNTE), which rose 0.13% or 0.010 points to trade at 7.645 at the close. OCI (AMS:OCI) added 0.49% or 0.130 points to end at 26.920 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa) was up 0.81% or 0.21 points to 26.09.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 217 to 31 and 1 ended unchanged.
Shares in ING Groep (AMS:ING) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 4.94% or 0.720 to 15.300.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 12.64% to 21.09.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.78% or 0.47 to $59.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.93% or 0.58 to hit $62.44 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.59% or 19.10 to trade at $1182.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1349, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.7176.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 94.49.
