Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Randstad (AS:RAND), which rose 3.44% or 1.65 points to trade at 49.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) added 2.27% or 0.525 points to end at 23.680 and SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) was up 2.23% or 0.29 points to 13.53 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were DSM Kon (AS:DSMN), which fell 1.14% or 0.65 points to trade at 56.31 at the close. Aegon (AS:AEGN) declined 1.01% or 0.048 points to end at 4.723 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was down 0.98% or 0.550 points to 55.850.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 90 to 86 and 13 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.59% to 18.46.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 4.12% or 1.91 to $48.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 4.35% or 2.04 to hit $48.90 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.39% or 4.75 to trade at $1213.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.0606, while EUR/GBP fell 1.14% to 0.8494.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 101.11.
