Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.49% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 4.04% or 0.21 points to trade at 5.49 at the close. Meanwhile, Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 3.93% or 0.65 points to end at 17.06 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) was up 3.52% or 0.84 points to 24.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which fell 2.74% or 6.95 points to trade at 247.15 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:ING) declined 1.65% or 0.220 points to end at 13.145 and Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) was down 0.79% or 0.35 points to 44.41.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 94 to 83 and 1 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.82% to 19.29 a new 1-month low.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 2.77% or 1.28 to $47.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 2.49% or 1.22 to hit $50.01 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.59% or 18.10 to trade at $1117.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.0958, while EUR/GBP fell 0.56% to 0.7106.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.34% at 97.32.
