Midday movers: Oracle, Moderna and more

Investing.com – Main U.S. indexes climbed Tuesday after November inflation data matched expectations and investors prepared for the Federal Reserve's policy decision later this week.

Here are some of the biggest U.S. stock movers today:

Oracle (NYSE:ORCL) shares fell 11% after reporting quarterly results and guidance. Its performance fueled concerns about slowing sales growth for its cloud computing business.

Seagen (Nasdaq: SGEN) climbed 3.3% after Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) said it has now received all required regulatory approvals to complete the acquisition of Seagen. Pfizer expects to close the acquisition on December 14.

Moderna (NASDAQ:MRNA) stock fell over 5% after the company announced that Chief Commercial Officer Arpa Garay will leave the company over the next few months, with CEO Stephane Bancel taking on additional responsibility.

Johnson Controls (NYSE:JCI) declined 7% after it reported third quarter EPS that missed consensus and issued 2024 guidance that was weaker than expected.

Icosavax, Inc. (Nasdaq: ICVX) climbed 48% after it agreed to be acquired by AstraZeneca (NASDAQ:AZN) for $15 per share in cash, plus a non-tradable contingent value right to receive up to $5 in cash.

Occidental Petroleum (NYSE:OXY) fell 2.7% and ExxonMobil (NYSE:XOM) declined 1.7% as the price of WTI crude oil slumped over 3%, falling below $69 per barrel.
