Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Consumer Staples and Telecoms Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.62% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 4.22% or 0.520 points to trade at 12.880 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) added 4.08% or 3.150 points to end at 81.000 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was up 3.22% or 1.230 points to 39.390 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which fell 5.07% or 2.16 points to trade at 40.45 at the close. PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) declined 2.55% or 4.900 points to end at 186.850 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was down 1.59% or 0.450 points to 27.810.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 115 to 57 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.08% or 3.150 to 81.000.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.10% or 1.10 to $1145.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.86% or 0.41 to hit $48.12 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.50% or 0.26 to trade at $51.66 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.17% to 16.6288, while EUR/MXN fell 0.43% to 18.6937.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 95.65.
