Investing.com – Malaysia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Industrial Products and Trade & Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI lost 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were Genting Malaysia Bhd (KL:GENM), which rose 1.41% or 0.06 points to trade at 4.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd (KL:HLCB) added 1.21% or 0.20 points to end at 16.74 and Bumiputra - Commerce Holdings Bhd (KL:CIMB) was up 0.84% or 0.05 points to 6.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Petronas Gas Bhd (KL:PGAS), which fell 5.88% or 1.38 points to trade at 22.10 at the close. PPB Group Bhd (KL:PEPT) declined 2.86% or 0.46 points to end at 15.60 and Tenaga Nasional Bhd (KL:TENA) was down 2.24% or 0.32 points to 13.98.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange by 250 to 224 and 42 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.04% or 0.62 to $59.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.13% or 0.75 to hit $65.52 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.59% or 7.20 to trade at $1220.40 a troy ounce.
SGD/MYR was down 0.09% to 2.6962, while USD/MYR rose 0.11% to 3.5888.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.86% at 95.03.
