Investing.com – Malaysia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Products, Construction and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI fell 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were KLCC Property Holdings Bhd (KL:KLCC), which fell 0.71% or 0.05 points to trade at 6.96 at the close. Meanwhile, Bumiputra - Commerce Holdings Bhd (KL:CIMB) fell 2.16% or 0.10 points to end at 4.53 and Petronas Dagangan Bhd (KL:PETR) was up 0.37% or 0.08 points to 21.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Axiata Group Bhd (KL:AXIA), which fell 1.38% or 0.08 points to trade at 5.71 at the close. DiGi.Com Bhd (KL:DSOM) added 1.28% or 0.07 points to end at 5.55 and IOI Corporation Bhd (KL:IOIB) was up 0.77% or 0.03 points to 3.91.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange by 389 to 141 and 39 ended unchanged.
Shares in Axiata Group Bhd (KL:AXIA) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.38% or 0.08 to 5.71. Shares in Bumiputra - Commerce Holdings Bhd (KL:CIMB) fell to 3-years lows; down 2.16% or 0.10 to 4.53.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.82% or 0.36 to $44.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.82% or 0.39 to hit $47.73 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.57% or 6.40 to trade at $1125.30 a troy ounce.
SGD/MYR was up 0.36% to 3.1197, while USD/MYR rose 0.32% to 4.4553.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 96.11.
