Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Healthcare and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.88%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP), which rose 1.77% or 0.048 points to trade at 2.756 at the close. Meanwhile, Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) added 1.02% or 0.0380 points to end at 3.7480 and Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) was up 0.93% or 0.0300 points to 3.2480 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Exor NV (MI:EXOR), which fell 3.53% or 1.78 points to trade at 48.67 at the close. Italgas SpA (MI:IG) declined 3.16% or 0.15 points to end at 4.47 and Recordati (MI:RECI) was down 3.07% or 1.15 points to 36.25.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 235 to 125 and 14 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.89% or 0.82 to $44.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.95% or 0.90 to hit $46.94 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 1.01 to trade at $1247.41 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.16% to 1.1311, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.8848.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.78% at 96.35.
