Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Tenaris (MI:TENR), which rose 4.72% or 0.58 points to trade at 12.87 at the close. Meanwhile, Luxottica Group (MI:LUX) added 1.87% or 0.86 points to end at 46.80 and Snam (MI:SRG) was up 1.10% or 0.050 points to 4.580 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which fell 9.17% or 0.0213 points to trade at 0.2110 at the close. Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MI:PMII) declined 3.67% or 0.0139 points to end at 0.3645 and Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) was down 3.52% or 0.084 points to 2.302.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 307 to 101 and 21 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.72% or 0.77 to $43.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.96% or 0.91 to hit $45.44 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.07% or 0.85 to trade at $1304.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1119, while EUR/GBP fell 0.27% to 0.8886.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 97.07.
