Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Italgas SpA (MI:IG), which rose 2.12% or 0.10 points to trade at 4.71 at the close. Meanwhile, Recordati (MI:RECI) added 1.44% or 0.51 points to end at 35.81 and Atlantia (MI:ATL) was up 1.39% or 0.34 points to 24.78 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset (MI:MS), which fell 4.51% or 0.166 points to trade at 3.514 at the close. Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) declined 3.28% or 0.1140 points to end at 3.3620 and Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) was down 2.67% or 0.076 points to 2.772.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 192 to 155 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in Italgas SpA (MI:IG) rose to all time highs; up 2.12% or 0.10 to 4.71.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 2.48% or 1.23 to $48.43 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 2.51% or 1.31 to hit $50.93 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.45% or 5.62 to trade at $1267.72 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.38% to 1.1229, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.8712.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 96.97.
