Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 1.62%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Unicredit (MI:CRDI), which rose 6.63% or 0.1340 points to trade at 2.1540 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) added 5.49% or 0.1220 points to end at 2.3440 and UBI Banca (MI:UBI) was up 5.36% or 0.1420 points to 2.7900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset (MI:MS), which fell 1.19% or 0.040 points to trade at 3.324 at the close. Terna (MI:TRN) declined 1.10% or 0.054 points to end at 4.836 and Recordati (MI:RECI) was down 0.86% or 0.24 points to 27.59.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 298 to 101 and 27 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.68% or 0.75 to $45.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.84% or 0.85 to hit $47.11 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.03% or 13.85 to trade at $1329.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.25% to 1.1118, while EUR/GBP fell 1.27% to 0.8337.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.29% at 96.08.
