Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Telecoms and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which rose 4.10% or 0.098 points to trade at 2.488 at the close. Meanwhile, Terna (MI:TRN) added 3.66% or 0.152 points to end at 4.302 and A2A (MI:A2) was up 3.03% or 0.038 points to 1.291 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which fell 2.47% or 0.330 points to trade at 13.040 at the close. Banca Mediolanum SpA (MI:BMED) declined 2.47% or 0.175 points to end at 6.905 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) was down 2.24% or 0.36 points to 15.73.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 171 to 167 and 12 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.40% or 0.21 to $52.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.45% or 0.25 to hit $55.30 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.66% or 8.15 to trade at $1244.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.0703, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8538.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 100.11.
