Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.31% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA), which rose 6.97% or 0.645 points to trade at 9.900 at the close. Meanwhile, Exor NV (MI:EXOR) added 3.46% or 1.45 points to end at 43.34 and Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) was up 2.76% or 0.078 points to 2.900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem (MI:SPMI), which fell 1.88% or 0.0105 points to trade at 0.5475 at the close. STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) declined 1.83% or 0.190 points to end at 10.210 and Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) was down 1.49% or 0.080 points to 5.300.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 182 to 132 and 24 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.97% or 0.645 to 9.900. Shares in Exor NV (MI:EXOR) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.46% or 1.45 to 43.34.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.63% or 0.34 to $54.10 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.42% or 0.24 to hit $57.13 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.69% or 8.15 to trade at $1173.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.59% to 1.0541, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.8578.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.73% at 102.13.
