Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT), which rose 3.20% or 0.0215 points to trade at 0.6940 at the close. Meanwhile, Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) added 2.91% or 0.43 points to end at 15.22 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) was up 2.13% or 0.115 points to 5.520 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which fell 1.82% or 0.0062 points to trade at 0.3341 at the close. Tenaris (MI:TENR) declined 1.63% or 0.2100 points to end at 12.7100 and Luxottica Group (MI:LUX) was down 1.42% or 0.64 points to 44.37.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 227 to 152 and 34 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.67% or 0.78 to $45.87 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.68% or 0.80 to hit $46.81 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.09% or 1.15 to trade at $1328.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.1069, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8348.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 96.58.
