Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 2.69%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 10.01% or 0.3500 points to trade at 3.8450 at the close. Meanwhile, Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) added 6.41% or 0.1690 points to end at 2.8060 and UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI) was up 5.54% or 0.6020 points to 11.4640 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI), which fell 0.80% or 0.06 points to trade at 7.45 at the close. Prysmian (MI:PRY) declined 0.63% or 0.10 points to end at 15.80 and Recordati (MI:RECI) was up 0.25% or 0.07 points to 27.99.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 289 to 67 and 28 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 2.48% or 1.25 to $51.67 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 2.71% or 1.60 to hit $60.64 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1228.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.1341, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8845.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 96.885.
