Investing.com – Israel stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Biomed sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 fell 0.85%.
The best performers of the session on the TA 35 were Energean Oil & Gas PLC (TASE:ENOG), which rose 16.67% or 320 points to trade at 2240 at the close. Meanwhile, Phoenix Holdings Ltd (TASE:PHOE1) added 8.73% or 118 points to end at 1469 and Paz Oil (TASE:PZOL) was up 7.53% or 1870 points to 26700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bazan Oil Refineries Ltd (TASE:ORL), which fell 8.52% or 5.7 points to trade at 61.2 at the close. Israel Corp (TASE:ILCO) declined 7.99% or 3110 points to end at 35790 and Delek Drilling LP (TASE:DEDRp) was down 6.41% or 21 points to 305.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 283 to 121 and 21 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 2.42% or 0.58 to $24.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 1.10% or 0.30 to hit $27.45 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 1.61% or 26.70 to trade at $1634.10 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.12% to 3.6166, while EUR/ILS rose 0.86% to 3.9301.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.20% at 101.025.
