Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Household, Basic Resources and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 2.73% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Dromeas (AT:DROr), which rose 9.09% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.120 at the close. Meanwhile, Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) added 5.79% or 0.014 points to end at 0.256 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) was up 5.00% or 0.05 points to 1.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr), which fell 8.15% or 0.22 points to trade at 2.48 at the close. Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) declined 7.33% or 0.033 points to end at 0.417 and Metka (AT:MTKr) was down 6.35% or 0.49 points to 7.23.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 53 to 21 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Metka (AT:MTKr) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.35% or 0.49 to 7.23.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.18% or 2.10 to $1170.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.73% or 0.43 to hit $58.70 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.48% or 0.30 to trade at $63.01 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.86% to 1.1209, while EUR/GBP rose 0.84% to 0.7338.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.57% at 95.83.
