Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.29%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 5.26% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.140 at the close. Meanwhile, Hygeia (AT:HYGr) added 2.68% or 0.004 points to end at 0.153 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) was up 1.84% or 0.017 points to 0.943 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Reds (AT:CAMr), which fell 9.76% or 0.036 points to trade at 0.333 at the close. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) declined 6.40% or 0.008 points to end at 0.117 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) was down 5.26% or 0.01 points to 0.18.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 65 to 25 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.56% or 7.55 to $1349.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.21% or 0.10 to hit $48.12 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.75% or 0.38 to trade at $50.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.1316, while EUR/GBP rose 0.48% to 0.8663.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 94.55.
