Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 1.28%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which rose 10.83% or 0.072 points to trade at 0.737 at the close. Meanwhile, Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 7.78% or 0.007 points to end at 0.097 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) was up 4.35% or 0.01 points to 0.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grivalia Properties REIC (AT:GRIr), which fell 13.75% or 1.03 points to trade at 6.46 at the close. Athens Water (AT:EYDr) declined 9.66% or 0.42 points to end at 3.93 and Hell.Exchanges (AT:EXCr) was down 8.37% or 0.44 points to 4.82.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 63 to 29 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.85% or 10.70 to $1254.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $40.19 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.55% or 0.23 to trade at $41.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.25% to 1.1288, while EUR/GBP fell 0.41% to 0.7783.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 94.92.
