Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Household, Basic Resources and Travel sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 1.23%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr), which rose 12.05% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.093 at the close. Meanwhile, Frigoglass (AT:FRIr) added 6.83% or 0.11 points to end at 1.72 and ThesKi Port (AT:OLTr) was up 2.58% or 0.44 points to 17.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which fell 6.14% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.107 at the close. Ellaktor (AT:HELr) declined 5.71% or 0.100 points to end at 1.650 and J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) was down 4.73% or 0.022 points to 0.443.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 42 to 30 and 1 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.56% or 6.80 to $1203.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 4.19% or 2.26 to hit $51.72 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 3.31% or 1.96 to trade at $57.15 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.0807, while EUR/GBP fell 0.95% to 0.7234.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 98.03.
