Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Construction, Healthcare and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 1.14%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Reds (AT:CAMr), which rose 29.24% or 0.088 points to trade at 0.389 at the close. Meanwhile, Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) added 4.48% or 0.06 points to end at 1.40 and Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) was up 4.29% or 0.15 points to 3.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which fell 5.01% or 0.05 points to trade at 0.91 at the close. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) declined 4.67% or 0.005 points to end at 0.102 and Gek Terna (AT:HRMr) was down 4.29% or 0.07 points to 1.56.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 69 to 22 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.11% or 1.30 to $1229.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 4.49% or 1.63 to hit $37.97 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 3.98% or 1.54 to trade at $40.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.1075, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.7851.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 96.91.
