Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Household sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 0.81% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 6.98% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.138 at the close. Meanwhile, Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr) added 4.45% or 0.8700 points to end at 20.4200 and Halcor (AT:XAKO) was up 4.20% or 0.012 points to 0.298 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr), which fell 10.00% or 0.0900 points to trade at 0.8100 at the close. Kleeman Hellas (AT:KLEr) declined 7.83% or 0.130 points to end at 1.530 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) was down 7.27% or 0.120 points to 1.530.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 61 to 31 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.25% or 3.25 to $1322.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.80% or 0.35 to hit $43.93 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.59% or 0.73 to trade at $46.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1243, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.8516.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 95.36.
