Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Household, Construction and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 17.39% or 0.028 points to trade at 0.190 at the close. Meanwhile, Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) added 6.58% or 0.100 points to end at 1.620 and Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) was up 2.16% or 0.030 points to 1.420 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr), which fell 5.77% or 0.0540 points to trade at 0.8800 at the close. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) declined 5.19% or 0.040 points to end at 0.730 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was down 5.11% or 0.007 points to 0.130.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 59 to 39 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.76% or 9.65 to $1271.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.72% or 0.37 to hit $50.86 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.59% or 0.31 to trade at $52.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.1335, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.7832.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.34% at 93.91.
