Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Food, Retail and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 8.70% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.150 at the close. Meanwhile, Elliniki Technodomiki Anemos SA (AT:ANEMr) added 6.40% or 0.062 points to end at 1.030 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) was up 5.05% or 0.050 points to 1.040 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which fell 5.26% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.360 at the close. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) declined 4.37% or 0.008 points to end at 0.175 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) was down 3.68% or 0.006 points to 0.157.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 60 to 38 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Elliniki Technodomiki Anemos SA (AT:ANEMr) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 6.40% or 0.062 to 1.030. Shares in Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 5.05% or 0.050 to 1.040.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.29% or 3.45 to $1188.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.98% or 0.51 to hit $51.45 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.15% or 0.63 to trade at $54.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.0593, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.8701.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 101.71.
