Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Basic Resources and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr), which rose 4.23% or 0.550 points to trade at 13.550 at the close. Meanwhile, Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) added 2.96% or 0.400 points to end at 13.900 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) was up 2.78% or 0.150 points to 5.550 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which fell 10.13% or 0.0080 points to trade at 0.0710 at the close. Intralot (AT:INLr) declined 5.35% or 0.038 points to end at 0.672 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was down 4.48% or 0.0300 points to 0.6400.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 62 to 46 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 4.23% or 0.550 to 13.550. Shares in Intralot (AT:INLr) fell to 5-year lows; down 5.35% or 0.038 to 0.672.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 2.60 to $1204.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.80% or 1.94 to hit $71.19 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.15% or 0.91 to trade at $79.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.31% to 1.1642, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.8933.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 94.76.
