Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Utilities and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 1.96%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which rose 7.33% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.161 at the close. Meanwhile, AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) added 7.25% or 0.058 points to end at 0.859 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) was up 5.63% or 0.012 points to 0.225 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Profile Syst (AT:PRFr), which fell 4.94% or 0.026 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) declined 4.25% or 0.034 points to end at 0.765 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was down 3.00% or 0.003 points to 0.097.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 71 to 24 and 24 ended unchanged.
Shares in AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) rose to 5-year highs; up 7.25% or 0.058 to 0.859.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.57% or 7.15 to $1255.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.77% or 0.37 to hit $47.60 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.39% or 0.20 to trade at $50.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.83% to 1.0888, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8652.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.76% at 98.83.
