Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Retail and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 1.81%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which rose 6.43% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.265 at the close. Meanwhile, Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 5.42% or 0.009 points to end at 0.175 and Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) was up 5.00% or 0.002 points to 0.042 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr), which fell 2.44% or 0.1000 points to trade at 4.0000 at the close. AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) declined 1.64% or 0.020 points to end at 1.200 and ThesKi Water (AT:TWSr) was down 1.03% or 0.040 points to 3.830.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 74 to 27 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.14% or 14.73 to $1274.37 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.34% or 0.17 to hit $49.45 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.07 to trade at $52.37 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.29% to 1.0866, while EUR/GBP rose 1.61% to 0.8505.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.72% at 98.94.
