Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 1.17% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Ellaktor (AT:HELr), which rose 9.73% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.240 at the close. Meanwhile, Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) added 7.03% or 0.23 points to end at 3.50 and Sarantiseg (AT:SRSr) was up 6.01% or 0.51 points to 8.99 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which fell 8.65% or 0.04 points to trade at 0.45 at the close. Intralot (AT:INLr) declined 5.71% or 0.06 points to end at 0.99 and FHL I Kiriakidis Marbles and Granites SA (AT:KRKr) was down 4.17% or 0.100 points to 2.300.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 63 to 34 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Intralot (AT:INLr) fell to 3-years lows; losing 5.71% or 0.06 to 0.99. Shares in Sarantiseg (AT:SRSr) rose to 5-year highs; rising 6.01% or 0.51 to 8.99.
Gold for June delivery was up 1.69% or 20.90 to $1255.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.57% or 1.47 to hit $42.66 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 3.19% or 1.37 to trade at $44.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.62% to 1.1383, while EUR/GBP fell 0.27% to 0.7902.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.57% at 93.91.
