Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.83%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 14.68% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.125 at the close. Meanwhile, Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) added 8.67% or 0.051 points to end at 0.639 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) was up 5.26% or 0.01 points to 0.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which fell 5.35% or 0.0530 points to trade at 0.9370 at the close. Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) declined 3.45% or 0.050 points to end at 1.400 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was down 2.83% or 0.003 points to 0.103.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 49 to 44 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 1.00% or 13.50 to $1343.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.79% or 1.25 to hit $46.01 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 3.05% or 1.41 to trade at $47.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1069, while EUR/GBP fell 1.41% to 0.8394.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 96.52.
