Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Food and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 11.38% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.137 at the close. Meanwhile, Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) added 3.98% or 0.350 points to end at 9.140 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 3.90% or 0.008 points to 0.213 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr), which fell 5.47% or 0.140 points to trade at 2.420 at the close. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) declined 4.35% or 0.050 points to end at 1.100 and FHL I Kiriakidis Marbles and Granites SA (AT:KRKr) was down 4.26% or 0.200 points to 4.500.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 51 to 49 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.85% or 10.77 to $1277.77 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.27% or 1.10 to hit $47.26 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.33% or 1.18 to trade at $49.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.55% to 1.1275, while EUR/GBP rose 0.57% to 0.8754.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.48% at 96.69.
