Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Food and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Hellenic Petroleum SA (AT:HEPr), which rose 4.34% or 0.310 points to trade at 7.450 at the close. Meanwhile, Public Power (AT:DEHr) added 2.96% or 0.11 points to end at 3.83 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) was up 2.55% or 0.140 points to 5.640 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which fell 6.56% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.114 at the close. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) declined 4.62% or 0.006 points to end at 0.124 and Hygeia (AT:HYGr) was down 3.67% or 0.012 points to 0.315.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 58 to 44 and 15 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.80% or 10.13 to $1278.73 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 3.70% or 1.72 to hit $44.74 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 3.57% or 1.74 to trade at $46.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.63% to 1.1281, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.8823.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.57% at 96.42.
