Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Chemicals and Food sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.12% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 9.52% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.115 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) added 5.79% or 0.031 points to end at 0.566 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) was up 4.17% or 0.0070 points to 0.1750 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr), which fell 5.88% or 0.055 points to trade at 0.880 at the close. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) declined 4.84% or 0.006 points to end at 0.118 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) was down 3.85% or 0.028 points to 0.700.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 46 to 46 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.38% or 4.95 to $1316.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.48% or 1.11 to hit $43.59 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.41% or 1.13 to trade at $45.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1189, while EUR/GBP fell 0.91% to 0.8416.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 95.66.
