Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.89% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which rose 14.04% or 0.080 points to trade at 0.650 at the close. Meanwhile, Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) added 13.30% or 0.0062 points to end at 0.0528 and Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr) was up 5.38% or 0.009 points to 0.168 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AS Company SA (AT:ASCr), which fell 2.08% or 0.060 points to trade at 2.820 at the close. Hellenic Telec (AT:OTEr) declined 1.91% or 0.21 points to end at 10.78 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) was down 1.46% or 0.020 points to 1.350.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 79 to 30 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.25% or 3.30 to $1318.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.04% or 1.13 to hit $54.13 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.92% or 0.58 to trade at $62.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.1426, while EUR/GBP fell 0.13% to 0.8740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 95.588.
