Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 1.27%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which rose 0.24% or 0.07 points to trade at 29.53 at the close. Meanwhile, Elisa Oyj (HE:ELI1V) fell 0.09% or 0.03 points to end at 32.36 and Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) was down 0.21% or 0.020 points to 9.390 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV), which fell 7.43% or 2.26 points to trade at 28.15 at the close. YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) declined 3.20% or 0.16 points to end at 4.97 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) was down 3.06% or 0.29 points to 9.35.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 104 to 58 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) rose to 5-year highs; rising 0.24% or 0.07 to 29.53.
Brent oil for May delivery was down 2.26% or 0.93 to $40.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.33% or 0.51 to hit $37.78 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.99% or 12.50 to trade at $1269.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.62% to 1.1178, while EUR/GBP rose 0.88% to 0.7820.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.05% at 96.17.
