Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 0.65%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV), which rose 1.42% or 0.51 points to trade at 36.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) added 1.09% or 0.33 points to end at 30.62 and Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V) was up 0.04% or 0.01 points to 24.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which fell 5.43% or 0.190 points to trade at 3.312 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) declined 3.78% or 0.1420 points to end at 3.6180 and Metso Oyj (HE:MEO1V) was down 1.66% or 0.35 points to 20.76.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 129 to 51 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.09% or 0.33 to 30.62.
Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.32% or 0.16 to $49.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.51% or 0.25 to hit $48.85 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.66% or 8.05 to trade at $1209.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1168, while EUR/GBP rose 1.06% to 0.7752.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 95.54.
