Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Valmt (HE:VALMT), which rose 0.68% or 0.10 points to trade at 14.71 at the close. Meanwhile, Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) added 0.65% or 0.24 points to end at 37.34 and Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) was up 0.53% or 0.020 points to 3.804 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which fell 2.49% or 0.160 points to trade at 6.260 at the close. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) declined 1.49% or 0.34 points to end at 22.50 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was down 1.45% or 0.1400 points to 9.5150.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 85 to 51 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) rose to 3-years highs; up 0.65% or 0.24 to 37.34.
Brent oil for April delivery was up 1.36% or 0.76 to $56.60 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.66% or 0.89 to hit $54.48 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.36% or 16.75 to trade at $1250.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.0579, while EUR/GBP fell 0.61% to 0.8428.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 100.99.
