Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 1.09%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV), which rose 2.09% or 0.90 points to trade at 43.93 at the close. Meanwhile, Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 1.76% or 0.1200 points to end at 6.9300 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) was up 1.73% or 0.90 points to 52.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Valmt (HE:VALMT), which fell 0.28% or 0.05 points to trade at 17.83 at the close. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) declined 0.18% or 0.08 points to end at 43.23 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) was down 0.08% or 0.005 points to 5.990.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 87 to 46 and 18 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.43% or 0.72 to $50.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.67% or 0.80 to hit $48.69 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.29% or 3.68 to trade at $1248.42 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1631, while EUR/GBP fell 0.30% to 0.8914.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 94.03.
