Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 1.06% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM), which rose 7.10% or 1.64 points to trade at 24.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) added 5.69% or 1.67 points to end at 31.01 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was up 2.58% or 0.2450 points to 9.7400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Valmt (HE:VALMT), which fell 1.31% or 0.22 points to trade at 16.63 at the close. Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) declined 1.13% or 0.36 points to end at 31.60 and KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) was down 1.12% or 0.50 points to 44.27.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 90 to 49 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) rose to all time highs; up 7.10% or 1.64 to 24.75. Shares in Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.69% or 1.67 to 31.01.
Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.29% or 0.15 to $51.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.39% or 0.19 to hit $49.04 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.02% or 13.02 to trade at $1264.48 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.71% to 1.0944, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.8528.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 98.65.
