Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HEL:NRE1V), which rose 1.25% or 0.31 points to trade at 25.19 at the close. Meanwhile, Stora Enso Oyj R (HEL:STERV) added 1.03% or 0.080 points to end at 7.815 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HEL:UPM1V) was up 0.97% or 0.14 points to 14.63 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Metso Oyj (HEL:MEO1V), which fell 0.93% or 0.19 points to trade at 20.28 at the close. Nokia Oyj (HEL:NOKIA) declined 0.80% or 0.045 points to end at 5.560 and Outokumpu Oyj (HEL:OUT1V) was down 0.73% or 0.0260 points to 3.5560.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 108 to 64 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Metso Oyj (HEL:MEO1V) fell to 3-years lows; falling 0.93% or 0.19 to 20.28.
Brent oil for October delivery was down 3.60% or 1.78 to $47.83 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.52% or 1.62 to hit $44.43 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.29% or 3.20 to trade at $1118.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1169, while EUR/GBP fell 0.56% to 0.7307.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 96.14.
