Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V), which rose 1.27% or 0.63 points to trade at 50.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) added 1.24% or 0.130 points to end at 10.630 and Konecranes Abp (HE:KCRA) was up 0.99% or 0.32 points to 32.51 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM), which fell 3.22% or 0.74 points to trade at 22.21 at the close. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) declined 0.95% or 0.055 points to end at 5.730 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) was down 0.53% or 0.030 points to 5.640.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 74 to 66 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.27% or 0.63 to 50.20.
Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.82% or 0.43 to $52.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.43% or 0.71 to hit $50.22 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.47% or 5.85 to trade at $1247.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.0724, while EUR/GBP fell 0.84% to 0.8586.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 100.01.
