Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 1.43%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metso Oyj (HE:METSO), which rose 4.28% or 1.09 points to trade at 26.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) added 3.49% or 1.24 points to end at 36.80 and Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V) was up 2.76% or 0.80 points to 29.74 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Valmt (HE:VALMT), which rose 0.06% or 0.01 points to trade at 17.11 at the close. Amer Sports Corporation (HE:AMEAS) added 0.20% or 0.05 points to end at 25.11 and Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) was up 0.40% or 0.030 points to 7.450.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 102 to 40 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.76% or 0.80 to 29.74.
Brent oil for May delivery was down 0.84% or 0.54 to $63.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.19% or 0.73 to hit $60.42 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.48% or 6.40 to trade at $1321.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.77% to 1.2315, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8915.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.61% at 90.11.
