Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 3.77% or 0.255 points to trade at 7.015 at the close. Meanwhile, Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) added 2.63% or 0.170 points to end at 6.630 and Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V) was up 2.40% or 0.63 points to 26.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA), which fell 1.32% or 0.44 points to trade at 32.99 at the close. Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) declined 1.10% or 0.19 points to end at 17.09 and Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) was down 0.77% or 0.40 points to 51.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 80 to 64 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) rose to 5-year highs; up 3.77% or 0.255 to 7.015.
Brent oil for February delivery was down 1.23% or 0.78 to $62.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.63% or 0.36 to hit $56.78 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.63% or 7.80 to trade at $1249.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.1767, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8809.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 93.85.
