Investing.com — Energy Focus (NASDAQ:EFOI), the human-centric lighting technologies firm, has seen its shares jump 89% Wednesday on the announcement that it is now selling a virus-targeted personal air disinfector for smaller spaces.
The company is also taking pre-orders on its nUVo TOWER, a virus-targeted portable UVC air disinfector, which is designed for larger spaces. Its nUVo TRAVELER product is intended for "cars and for personal spaces." The TOWER product deliveries are expected in early January 2022.
The company said that nUVo UVC air disinfectors are designed to eliminate 99.9%+ of airborne pathogens such as molds, bacteria, and viruses, including coronavirus and its variants, with one pass over the UVC lamps. This explains the enormous jump in the company's stock price.
“As people and countries worldwide continue to battle SARS-CoV-2 and its unpredictable mutations and constantly evolving variants, we believe our patent-pending nUVo™ TRAVELER and nUVo™ TOWER provide uniquely powerful, filter-free and chemical-free air disinfection solutions to help create safer spaces—whether at home, in the office or as they travel,” said James Tu, chairman and CEO of Energy Focus.
