Investing.com - Here’s a preview of the top 3 things that could rock markets tomorrow.
1. Helen of Troy Earnings Scheduled
Investors who took Columbus Day off will return tomorrow as Wall Street gets down to the fourth quarter in earnest.
Earnings season really starts in the middle of the month, but investors will get some numbers ahead of trading.
Beauty products maker Helen of Troy (NASDAQ:HELE) weighs in before the bell.
Analysts forecast that Helen of Troy earned $1.59 in the latest quarter on sales of about $349 million.
Shares have been climbing since a low of the year in mid-March.
2. Small Business Optimism Seen Edging Higher
Investors will get the latest numbers on small business confidence before the bell.
The NFIB small business optimism index comes out at 6:00 AM ET (10:00 GMT).
On average, economists expect that the index remained at record highs in September, edging up to 108.9 from 108.8 in August.
The index has topped expectations in the last four readings.
3. Fed’s Evans and Williams to Speak
With worries about a rising-rate environment continuing to hit the market, any remarks from Federal Reserve officials will be studied even more than normal.
Tomorrow, Chicago Fed President Charles Evans will speak at 9:00 AM ET.
Evans will give the introductory remarks at the Opportunity Financial Network Conference.
Tomorrow evening, New York Fed President John Williams will be giving a speech and having a press conference at the New York Fed-Bank Indonesia Central Banking Forum in Bali.
