Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Consumption sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Vale SA (SA:VALE5), which rose 8.29% or 0.87 points to trade at 11.37 at the close. Meanwhile, Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4) added 7.78% or 0.43 points to end at 5.96 and Vale SA (SA:VALE3) was up 6.59% or 0.93 points to 15.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Braskem SA (SA:BRKM5), which fell 5.52% or 1.35 points to trade at 23.10 at the close. ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3) declined 4.34% or 0.15 points to end at 3.31 and Localiza Rent a Car SA (SA:RENT3) was down 4.28% or 1.23 points to 27.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 159 to 120 and 30 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.91% to 53.71.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.60% or 7.30 to $1216.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.50% or 0.20 to hit $39.59 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 2.58% or 3.38 to trade at $127.67 .
USD/BRL was up 0.06% to 3.6820, while EUR/BRL rose 0.07% to 4.1155.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 96.17.
