Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate, Public Utilities and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 4.60% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA Pref (SA:GOLL4), which rose 18.71% or 2.32 points to trade at 14.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET6) added 18.31% or 4.14 points to end at 26.75 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET3) was up 17.33% or 3.25 points to 22.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4), which fell 1.60% or 0.56 points to trade at 34.42 at the close. Gerdau SA Pref (SA:GGBR4) declined 1.20% or 0.19 points to end at 15.61 and Klabin Unt (SA:KLBN11) was down 1.20% or 0.22 points to 18.11.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 291 to 184 and 32 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 16.67% to 46.38.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.16% or 14.00 to $1191.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.12% or 0.09 to hit $74.25 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 2.59% or 2.82 to trade at $111.90 .
USD/BRL was down 1.98% to 3.7650, while EUR/BRL fell 2.22% to 4.3276.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 95.41.
