Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 4.06% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Elia (BR:ELI), which rose 1.58% or 0.750 points to trade at 48.250 at the close. Meanwhile, Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 0.03% or 0.01 points to end at 49.46 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) was down 0.77% or 0.85 points to 109.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KBC (BR:KBC), which fell 11.17% or 5.060 points to trade at 40.240 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:ING) declined 7.80% or 0.728 points to end at 8.607 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was down 6.82% or 2.220 points to 30.345.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 118 to 25 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in KBC (BR:KBC) fell to 52-week lows; down 11.17% or 5.060 to 40.240. Shares in ING Groep NV (AS:ING) fell to 52-week lows; down 7.80% or 0.728 to 8.607. Shares in Ageas (BR:AGES) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.82% or 2.220 to 30.345.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.15% or 1.95 to $1324.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.94% or 1.40 to hit $46.24 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.79% or 1.37 to trade at $47.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.84% to 1.1024, while EUR/GBP rose 2.90% to 0.8362.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.96% at 96.55.
